Bullish market sentiments on green technology:

Singapore government has announced in its 2025 budget report, a S$5 billion top-up to the Future Energy Fund to accelerate the nation’s transition into cleaner renewables energy. The fund will be used to support nascent technologies and onboarding of low-carbon energy sources into our electricity grid.

Globally in 2023, green technology investments had reached $1.77 trillion, a 17% rise from previous year, according to BloombergNEF report.

During this critical transitional period, Green DevOps would play a pivotal role in unlocking greater energy resource efficiency and optimised human capital - a central theme of this year’s Green IO Singapore conference - to sustain nations’ efforts in reaching net-carbon by 2050.

Written by Thibaut Meurgue, founder of The Transmutation Principle in collaboration with SUSS (Singapore University of Social Science) he explores the hidden costs of our digital lives, from resource extraction and manufacturing to energy consumption and e-waste.

Tech's True Cost: The Environmental Price of Our Digital World. Measuring the true impact of our digital habits and tech consumption.

The article also highlights the globalised nature of this impact, emphasising the need for Lifecycle assessment of our technology to be responsible tech stewards and how Singapore is paving the way as a regional leader in sustainable technology.
