Transforming Alstom
Our first sustainability workshop with Alstom!

Last week, we kicked off 2025 with our first corporate workshop of the year with Alstom! Shoutout to Léna Kernoa & Umesh Nair for introducing us to your team!
Alstom is a global leader in the rail transport sector, offering a wide range of products and services for the entire railway ecosystem. From high-speed trains to metros, trams, and signalling systems.
Their notable projects in Singapore include systems for MRTs, LRTs, building & designing of the Circle Line & the ongoing fleet replacement of North-South and East-West Lines.
We had participants from various departments, from engineering to finance, who all had varying levels of understanding about our ecology, but they all share a vested interest in learning about the environmental repercussions of human activities.
The workshop is unlike a typical corporate workshop, as we used Climate Fresk flash-cards to map out climate science fundamentals & the interdependencies between nature, biodiversity & human activities.
It's a super hands-on puzzle-solving game as participants are required to figure out the cards & their sequences as a group, learning & applying as they go, with the help of our team facilitating in the background, to ensure everyone gets the right 'full picture' by the end of the session.
Interestingly, the cards' name is metaphorically inspired by 'fresco' which is the art of mural painting on wet plasters; representing the fluidity & dynamic nature of climate knowledge, which is an evolving field.
The Climate Fresk cards are designed in 2015 by Cedric Ringenbach, an engineer, energy transition consultant & climate change expert.
Information on the cards are adapted from United Nations IPPC reports, which in their original form is difficult for a layperson to wrap their heads around, hence the cards are designed to elevate & accelerate climate science literacy from the ground up.
